Description
Apply for fresh registration as a voter in India through Election Commission of India Form 6. This service is for an Indian citizen who is 18 years or above, or who will attain 18 years on one of the qualifying dates, and is ordinarily residing in the concerned constituency. The application is submitted to the Electoral Registration Officer through the official ECI voter service system.
The applicant must provide personal details, relative's details, contact information, date of birth, present ordinary residence, and declaration that the applicant is an Indian citizen and is applying for inclusion in the electoral roll for the first time. Aadhaar details may be provided for authentication, but the Form 6 specifically allows the applicant to state that they do not have an Aadhaar number.
A recent unsigned passport-size colour photograph with a white background is required. Self-attested proof of date of birth and self-attested proof of ordinary residence should be uploaded/submitted. Once the application is processed and the applicant is enrolled, the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC/Voter ID) is delivered to the registered postal address through the election authorities. Application status can be tracked using the acknowledgement/reference number.
